Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra are out of New Zealand's ODI series against India due to injuries. Tim Seifert, Henry Nicholls, and Dean Foxcroft have been called up as replacements.

New Zealand's upcoming five-match ODI series against India has hit a snag. Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra are both sidelined with injuries, forcing the selectors to call in replacements. Tim Seifert, Henry Nicholls, and Dean Foxcroft have been added to the squad. ### Injury Updates on Chapman and Ravindra An MRI scan revealed that Chapman's left hamstring requires another two weeks of rehabilitation. He tore the hamstring back in September while playing in the European T20 Premier League. Ravindra, on the other hand, is still recovering from a right shoulder injury sustained during a promotional shoot, also in September. He's not yet able to field at full capacity. New Zealand is also keeping Ravindra's workload in check with a Test series against India scheduled for later this month. Head coach Rob Walter expressed the team's disappointment: "It's tough to lose both players, but we have to put their long-term health first." He added that Chapman is working hard to get back on the field and that the team won't take unnecessary risks with Ravindra given the upcoming Tests. ### Squad Changes for India ODIs Seifert, who was originally named only for the last two ODIs, is now part of the squad for the entire series. Nicholls, who turns 35 this month, joins for the first three matches. He's coming off a strong 119-run knock for Canterbury in the Ford Trophy on Saturday and has played 92 ODIs for New Zealand. Foxcroft, currently playing in the red-ball series between New Zealand A and India A, will link up for the final two games. Matthew Fisher, initially picked for the last two games only, has now been included for the full series as an additional bowling option. Matt Henry, who was ruled out midway through the T20I series against India, joined the ODI squad on Monday. The team management will assess his fitness before the first match. ### Updated ODI Squads For the first three ODIs, the squad is: Mitchell Santner (captain), Michael Bracewell, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Matthew Fisher, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham (wicketkeeper), Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Glenn Phillips, Tim Seifert, Nathan Smith, Will Young, and Blair Tickner. For the last two ODIs, the squad includes: Santner (captain), Finn Allen, Bracewell, Kristian Clarke, Duffy, Fisher, Dean Foxcroft, Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Hay (wicketkeeper), Nick Kelly, Seifert (wicketkeeper), Tickner, and Young. The first ODI is set for Wednesday, November 4, at Eden Park in Auckland. India's squad has also seen changes, with Ishan Kishan named vice-captain for the fourth and fifth ODIs once the Test players leave to join the red-ball group. > "It's a challenging situation, but it gives opportunities for others to step up," Walter said. "We have full confidence in the players coming in." Stay tuned for more cricket updates and analysis.
