According to a BCCI source who spoke to ANI, the board saw several things during IPL 2026 that made them uncomfortable. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia pointed out what he called "anomalies and irregularities" involving players, team officials, and outsiders. This covers hotels, team buses, and all other secure areas during the IPL. As captain, he was supposed to set a good example. - Rajasthan Royals team manager Ravinder Singh Bhinder was fined about $1,200 for using a mobile phone near the dugout during a game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Phone use there is strictly banned under IPL rules. These incidents have pushed the BCCI to speed up its oversight efforts.
