Shaun Tait is no longer Bangladesh's fast bowling coach. The former Australian pacer walked away from the role on June 4, 2026, after 12 months with the side. He also left the door open for a return in a different capacity, mentioning the Bangladesh Premier League as a possible avenue down the line. "I don't think that'll be the closed door on my time in the country," he said. "You never know what the future holds." ### Bangladesh Pace Attack Improved Under Tait's Watch Despite the short tenure, Tait made a clear impact on the Bangladesh fast bowling unit. During his time, the pace attack went from being a support act to becoming a genuine match-winning force across all three formats. The most high-profile result came when Bangladesh beat Pakistan 2-0 in a Test series, with the seamers playing a central role in that historic win. Tait had been vocal about Bangladesh's pace bowling potential, telling ESPNcricinfo in a recent interview that it was time for the country to recognise fast bowling as one of its core strengths. Young fast bowler Nahid Rana was one of the clearest beneficiaries of Tait's coaching. Rana took a five-wicket haul against Pakistan in an ODI in March 2026 and credited Tait for building his confidence at the international level.
